Now Hiring: Assistant Teacher(s)

Our toddler class is currently hiring an assistant teacher, and our preschool is also hiring an assistant. These are two separate jobs with separate accounting systems / payroll. Ideally, one person would fill both roles, but we are open to hiring two separate people, one for each role.

Assistant Teacher for Toddlers

Toddler class is on Tuesday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm. The assistant teacher arrives for set-up at 9:15, and stays for clean-up till 12:45. This class is for children aged 24 - 35 months on September 1, with a maximum of 20 children. Parents remain in the building for the full class time. During one hour (10:50 - 11:50), half of the parents attend parent education in one classroom. The children are supervised by the two teachers and the other half of the parents. 3.5 hours per week.

Assistant Teacher for Preschool

Preschool meets on Wednesday through Friday, but the assistant teacher only works on two of those days (typically Wednesday and Thursday, but that is negotiable.) Class is from 9:30 to 1:00. The teacher arrives at 8:45 for set-up and stays for clean-up till 1:45. This class is for children age 3 or older on September 1, and we have 22 children enrolled. Each day four parents are assigned to work at preschool, plus the two teachers, so our adult:child ratio is better than 1:4. 10 hours per week.

Each role is salaried, but the approximate hourly pay is equivalent to $24 - 28 per hour, DOE.
