Starting in Fall 2026, Eastgate Cooperative Preschool will offer enrichment classes once a week in STE(A)M. ECP is also now offering its Parent and Child Toddler class directly through ECP, rather than through the recently defunded Bellevue College Parent Education Program.
The Foxes Class for ages 2 to 3 and their parent or caregiver offers engaging, developmentally appropriate activities such as art, sensory play, imaginative play, large-motor challenges, and music time. Caregivers have the chance to connect with other families, build supportive relationships, enjoy meaningful playtime with their children, and participate in parent education focused on child development. The Tinkerers Class for ages 3 to 6 and the Engineers Class for ages 5 to 8 are Saturday STE(A)M programs designed around the way children naturally learn. Each week, teachers provide activities based on a science or engineering theme, allowing children to explore and experiment at their own pace and according to their own interests. Teachers also introduce scientific ideas through books, songs, and hands-on demonstrations. Learn more.
The toddler program is a parent-child class. The adult caregiver stays at class for the full time every week, and participates in parent education discussions every other week.
Families enrolled in the STE(A)M classes are required to volunteer in the classroom about twice per quarter and attend a monthly parent education session during class time. Volunteer work includes supervising for safety, helping with clean-up, and engaging in play with the children.
